  There were (are) two churches in the area near this church. One, this one, the Presbyterian Church, is on the south side of the Culebra Creek in what was once known as San Pablo. On the north side of the Culebra Creek, in what was known as San Pedro, stood (stands) a Roman Catholic Church named: Iglesia de San Pedro y San Pablo.
